PRIVATE & SEMI-PRIVATE SESSIONS
Every client has their strengths, so we tune our workouts to meet your needs.
The one-on-one sessions are tailored to your individual needs and goals.
For everybody from an athlete to mother, Pilates will develop and enhance stamina, posture, alignment & core strength for elite performance to everyday activities. Specialized spring resistance-based equipment and mat exercises will be utilized to help you to better understand and connect with the principles of pilates including developing core strength, flexibility, breath, control, flow and precision of movement
The Pilates method uses specifically designed equipment and floor exercises to promote uniform development of the body. This allows weaker muscles to develop instead of the body continuously relying on the stronger muscles to do the work. Pilates focuses on the core muscles first, specifically stomach, butt and back, in a sense, working the muscles from the inside out. This achieves and maintains a balanced aligned body.
BENEFITS OF A SPECIALIZED PILATES PROGRAM
TYPES OF PRIVATE SESSIONS:
Pilates for Pain Relief and Rehabilitation:
Many physicians and physical therapists recognize and praise the benefits of Pilates. They often recommend that their patients practice Pilates for pain relief, post-injury and post-surgical rehabilitation, including shoulders, hips and knees. Pilates is widely acknowledged as one of the most successful methods for alleviating back pain, spinal disorders such as scoliosis, joint and disc diseases such as bulging and herniated discs and degenerative disc disease. It also benefits individuals with sciatica, nerve pain, neurological disorders such as multiple sclerosis, osteoporosis, arthritis, pelvic floor dysfunction and other pain and movement disorders.
Many of our clients come to us through referrals from medical practitioners and therapists. Our expert teachers are accustomed to working with physicians, physical therapists and the client to develop a program that addresses the individual’s specific needs and goals. This includes obtaining information about the client’s underlying condition, identifying contraindications, discussing doctors’ recommendations and reviewing physical therapy evaluations and home exercise programs.
Our teaching is distinguished by our ability to help you understand your body on a deep kinesthetic level. Our goal is to empower you to develop awareness and make changes that will restore healthy movement and alleviate pain and injury. We listen, support, examine, and we will teach you how to move with greater ease, grace and confidence.
Pilates for General Health and Well Being:
Pilates can be practiced in a variety of ways. Make no mistake, Pilates is for both Men and Women, offering a complete and total mind-body workout.
By encouraging body awareness, muscular strength, endurance, and flexibility, the Pilates method emphasizes the development of our bodies so that we may address the functional needs of everyday life in a healthy way. It is a mind-body exercise method and a way of life, which encourages the entire body to work in a unified manner, with physical and mental precision. When practicing these functional exercises, one gains the ability to translate the knowledge learned during private and group instruction into movements used throughout daily life.
One of the great benefits of practicing Pilates is the achievement of an aware mind and a strong body that is less prone to injury. With a relatively small investment of time, one can train the body to become more efficient, combat the stresses of life, and clear and focus the mind to attain a long-term benefit in all areas of life.
These sessions are for people wanting to stay fit and healthy in a fun, safe, and effective program on the pilates equipment. Workouts can vary depending on current goals and to keep your workouts challenging for your fitness level.
Pilates for sport specific activities:
Many athletes incorporate Pilates into their overall training programs. Pilates emphasizes elongating the muscles and creating space in the joints while simultaneously building stability. Using the pilates equipment an athlete can be supported while safely increasing range of motion which helps prevent injury and promote longevity in a sport you love.
